Dr. Duygu Karasan, DDS, MAS, PhD, is a Specialist in Reconstructive Dentistry and a faculty member at the University of Geneva’s Clinics for Dental Medicine, Division of Fixed Prosthodontics and Biomaterials. After earning her DDS and completing a specialization in Prosthodontics at Hacettepe University (Ankara), she received her PhD there in 20214. In 2013–2014 she was a visiting researcher in Prosthodontics at the University of Freiburg under P rof. Joerg Strub and Prof. Wael Att, and in 2018 she was awarded an ITI Scholarship for a one-year fellowship in Geneva (Chair: Prof. Irena Sailer). Upon finishing her ITI scholarship year in Geneva, she completed a specialization
in Reconstructive Dentistry and earned both her Master of Advanced Studies (MAS) and her
Doctorate at the University of Geneva, where she now serves as a Research and Teaching Fellow, coordinates the undergraduate fixed prosthodontics clinic, and supervises in the postgraduate program.
Dr. Karasan is a principal investigator in translational research focused on integrating digital dental technologies to optimize reconstructive workflows—enhancing precision, reducing treatment times, and improving predictability in complex rehabilitations. Her scholarly work spans implant dentistry, biomechanics, esthetic implant rehabilitation, and efficiency optimization in clinical workflows, with numerous publications in peer-reviewed journals and invited lectures internationally. An active member of the Swiss Society of Reconstructive Dentistry (SSRD), the International Team for Implantology (ITI, member since 2010), the European Association for Osseointegration (EAO), and the European Academy of Esthetic Dentistry (EAED), she contributes to the advancement of evidence-based, digitally enabled prosthodontic care.
